Registering

  • Who is Sky Sports Living for Sport aimed at?

    The initiative is completely free and accessible to all secondary schools working with 11-16 year olds in the UK.

  • How do I register?

    Registration is quick and simple. Click on the ‘Book your free visit today’ on the homepage and following the simple process.

  • How can I find out if my school is already registered with Sky Sports Living for Sport?

    Using the ‘Is my school involved’ option on the bottom right hand of the Homepage, enter your school’s postcode to find out if you are already signed up.

  • How many students can I involve in Sky Sports Living for Sport?

    The initiative is targeted – so each project shouldn’t involve more than 20 students.

Accessing your account

  • I’ve forgotten my password. How can I access my account?

    Click on the ‘My project’ button and just click the ‘Forgot your details?’ We’ll send you a password reminder by email. 

  • I’ve forgotten my user name. How can I access my account?

    Click on the ‘My project’ button then click on ‘Forgot your details?’ We’ll send you a user name reminder by email.

Running a project

  • What happens when the project is finished?

    Come back next September and start another project. You’ll automatically be eligible for additional incentives.

  • Can I run more than one project?

    Yes, you can run as many projects as you like. However, each school will only receive two Athlete Mentor visits per academic year. Please note we have capacity for 750 first Athlete Mentor visits a year.

  • How long should my project run for?

    We suggest that your project runs from a minimum of six weeks up to a full school year.

Athlete mentors

  • How many Athlete Mentor visits do we get?

    Each school can get a maximum of two free Athlete Mentor visits per year. Please note we have capacity for 750 first Athlete Mentor visits a year.

  • Can I choose which Athlete Mentor visits my school?

    Due to diary constraints and travelling distances, we will allocate an Athlete Mentor to your school. Unfortunately, we are not able to give you a choice of which Athlete Mentor will visit, but rest assured they are all fantastic.

  • When will I get my Athlete Mentor visit?

    An Athlete Mentor will be allocated as soon as you register your school.  Once you submit your project plan online and it’s approved by us you will be eligible for a second Athlete Mentor visit. Please allow up to 14 days for your Athlete Mentor to contact you to confirm your date. Please note we have capacity for 750 first Athlete Mentor visits a year.

  • How long does the Athlete Mentor visit the school for?

    Your Athlete Mentor will spend half a day for the first visit and a whole day for the second visit at your school. The plan for the visit will be tailored to suit your school’s needs. The first visit is a chance for you to introduce the Athlete Mentor to your school and then during the second visit the Athlete Mentor will run a Six Keys to Success workshop, a physical activity session, and talk about their life story and how anything is possible. Please note we have capacity for 750 first Athlete Mentor visits a year.

  • Can we use the Athlete Mentor visit for wider school support?

    Yes, the Athlete Mentor can work with other groups of students, not just those participating in Sky Sports Living for Sport.

Incentives

  • What incentives do we get for joining the programme?

    For each project plan that you submit, you will receive free T-shirts for the young people involved. Every school is also eligible for two free Athlete Mentor visits each school year. Please note we have capacity for 750 first Athlete Mentor visits a year.  Participating schools can also gain entry to fantastic monthly competitions, and our loyalty scheme. Sky Sports Living for Sport offers additional incentives throughout the year including monthly competitions, sports masterclasses and filmings at randomly-selected participating schools.  Every school also gets the chance to benefit from a host of fantastic prizes as part of our loyalty scheme. 

  • How many T-shirts can I order?

    You can order up to 20 T-shirts at a time, which should allow for one for each student on the programme.

  • How does the loyalty scheme work?

    We want to thank the schools and teachers who take part and put in the time and effort to create such amazing projects. It certainly doesn’t work without you.  We’ve set up a rewards programme that offers ‘thank you’ gifts year-on-year. The more you come back the bigger and better the rewards.

  • When will I get my T-shirts?

    Your T-shirts will be sent to you once your project has been successfully submitted online. Please allow up to 28 days for delivery.

  • Is there any funding attached to the programme?

    No, but Sky Sports Living for Sport can be run in conjunction with any other programme or support that your school may be accessing. Successful Sky Sports Living for Sport projects have been run with almost no financial resources.
