Darren Campbell on his third year as Sky Sports Living for Sport Ambassador

Darren Campbell

"I'm about to start my third year as an Ambassador for Sky Sports Living for Sport and I can't wait to meet with the young people and teachers involved this year, as they experience the potential of sport to change lives.

It is not just the youngsters who have been inspired by their participation in the initiative. Since accepting the role of Ambassador, teachers have told me time and again how they have been bowled over the change in attitude, confidence and self belief that participating pupils have shown not just on the sports field, but in the classroom and elsewhere in school.

The scheme has demonstrated that sport can have numerous positive benefits for both individuals and their wider environment and I am proud to be involved.

One of the reasons Sky Sports Living for Sport is so successful is due to the fact that the pupils can relate so much with the mentors who are there to show them that they, too, can be the best they can be.

I am really looking forward to getting out and about as much as possible this year and seeing for myself the great work that is happening up and down the country."
