Mike Mullen Sky Sports Living for Sport athlete mentor

Mike Mullen

-BMX-

Mike began riding BMX bikes when he was 11 years old after watching a television programme called BMX Beat. Watching the guys spinning and jumping on bikes, he thought it was the coolest thing he’d ever seen. He got a bike for Christmas, became hooked and started riding as a hobby every day.

From then onwards he’s been constantly amazed by the experiences the sport of BMX has given him. He’s performed in interesting and unusual places around the world, met inspiring people, felt the highs of achieving two world champion titles and the lows of crashes and injuries.

Mike says “So many opportunities have grown from being involved in sport. Beyond actually riding my bike I now run a company performing displays in BMX and skating at festivals and events. I also work as a coach in my sport, run competitions and work as an athlete mentor in schools helping young people to improve their lives. Looking back I can see where my sport has taught me the skills outlined in the six keys to success. Through sport I’ve learnt these valuable skills and positive ways of thinking that I’ve transferred beyond sport and into my everyday life. The six keys to success are a great way to start improving your own life. I challenge you to take them on board and start using them today.”
