Tom Davis

-Judo-

As an extremely energetic child, Tom’s mother encouraged him to regularly participate in a wide variety of sports. Never quite excelling in one particular field, it wasn’t until the age of 17 when, encouraged by the high achievers at his local judo club, he decided he too wanted to get a black belt. After 4 hard months of training he achieved his goal.

Tom went on to get selected to represent Great Britain. Moving his training up a gear, Tom improved greatly and changed from -100kg category to -81kg.

At this new weight, Tom went from strength to strength, winning the Commonwealth Judo Championships and the British Championships in 2005.

Tom was in contention for the 2008 Beijing Olympics but unfortunately did not quite get there and was named reserve. This has made Tom even hungrier to go one better come 2012 and achieve his childhood dream. He hopes to become the first British Olympic Judo Champion.
