Darran O'Sullivan

Dara O'Sullivan

Darran is a Gaelic footballer who plays for his local club Glenbeigh-Glencar. His career highlights include being the first from his club to captain the Kerry county team to All Ireland success and being crowned the highly acclaimed ‘All Star’ award in 2011.

Darran grew up in London and played soccer with Queens Park Rangers until he and his family moved to Glenbeigh in Co. Kerry when he was aged 12. From a young age Darran enjoyed playing football and had his heart set on making the Kerry Minor Squad.

In 2003 his determination paid off as he made his debut in the Kerry Squad at just 17 and reached the All-Ireland Semi- Final along with his team mates. The following year he returned to Croke Park, this time beating all competition and reaching the All-Ireland Final.

Although defeated by Tyrone, the experience was invaluable for Darran as it instilled in him a hunger to achieve and laid the foundations for the exhilarating career that would follow.

Darran has since gone on to play in seven All-Ireland finals, winning four for his home county. Today, his first passion remains football and his dedication and passion for the game sees him continue to torment opposition defences all over the country with his trademark speed, penetrating runs and eye-catching goals.
