Support Safer Internet Day

The internet provides a world of opportunity to connect, learn and share, but with it comes the responsibility for all parents and guardians to ensure use by young people is safe.

Childnet is a non-profit organisation that aims to help make the Internet a great and safe place for children and young adults aged between 7 and 18.

Childnet is behind Safer Internet Day on 5 February 2013, helping spread the word across the world and encourage everyone to 'Connect with Respect' when they’re online. Sky joined children from Lampton School to create a video to promote using the internet safely and to promote the Sager Internet Day.

You can sign up to support Safer Internet Day 2013 and find out more about how your family can use the Internet, at home and on the move, in a safe and responsible manner.  From privacy settings, to the use of social media, to avoiding harmful adult content, Safer Internet Day 2013 is a great opportunity to learn more and spread the word.

Your school, whether primary or secondary, can also download lesson plans and classroom activities from the Safer Internet Day, to help ensure that your child's friends and classmates connect with respect too.

BSkyB is actively engaged on the issue of child safety and works closely with stakeholders, industry, Government and non-Government organisations to ensure customers have the knowledge and tools necessary to get the most from the internet, in a safe way.
